Dr Soraya Gill offers a Manchester based, scientifically led, bespoke lifestyle medicine programme that prevents, treats and reverses the progression of chronic diseases. It is an adjunct form of treatment that bridges the gap between conventional clinical medicine and preventative medicine.
About me
I qualified as an NHS Doctor (UK) 35 years ago and I’ve worked in hospitals, communities and primary care settings. Over this time, I’ve become experienced and passionate around managing chronic diseases, obesity, mental health and lifestyle needs.
The current model of the NHS offers excellent acute management answers but does not provide effectively for preventive health. I am here to offer the preventative prescription with the aim that you access acute NHS provision far less frequently.
The significance of obesity in our lives is only now truly comprehended and our understanding is moving forward at a tremendous rate. We are now at the point where the science of food, diet and metabolism is really gathering pace. Through DNA sequencing and epigenetics, we are now able to understand the differences in all of us and how these affect our bodies, our weight and obesity. I have a programme which incorporates all this knowledge to help you achieve your optimum weight requirements.
My passion is to empower people to take control of their own well being and to work with them to bring about a lifestyle change that will benefit them in the long-term. My aim is to help you rely less on medication, reduce your chronic disease burden and to give you personal satisfaction with your health.
Bespoke Lifestyle Prescription
The aim of my programme is to help you to make lifestyle changes, necessary to maximise your health and wellbeing as well as prevent future decline. For this very reason, this is not a short-term programme. This requires a commitment from you as the individual, as well as from myself. With this mutual agreement, I will empower you to make the permanent changes required for your individual wellbeing.
At the end of the programme you will have the skills and knowledge to move forward independently of myself and, I believe, to have the tools necessary to enable you to empower your family and friends.
